Elmer and Ina moved to California in 1936. Ina taught dancing to the youth and organized a youth choir. She wrote several songs (lyrics and music), and wrote a beautiful musical number which was sung by the Stake Relief Society Women's Choir at the dedication of the new Long Beach California Stake Center in 1942. "Dedication" was sung again at the re-dedication of the same building years later. Ina's husband, Elmer, established his own machine shop business in Long Beach, CA, and she helped him by doing the bookkeeping and office work.
They retired from business in 1983 when she was 74 and her husband was 79. They moved to St. George, in 1985, and then to Orem, in 1990. Ina's husband preceded her in death in 2006, at the age of 102. She is survived by (two daughters and two sons) Eloah Dawn Beckstrand, Orem, UT: Carol Nan (Wesley) Hess, Long Beach, CA; Dennis (Sheron) Beckstrand, Orem, UT; Michael (Elaine) Beckstrand, St. George, UT; 26 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Dale (Shelley) Becstrand, Long Beach, CA, and infant identical twin daughters, Rhea and Rita.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m. in the Timpview 1st Ward Chapel, 865 W. 1000 N. , Orem, UT, with a viewing from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the service. Funeral services provided by Larkin Sunset Gardens. Interment, City of Orem Cemetery, 1520 N. 800 E. , Orem, UT.
