Donna married Arthur Pearson June 20, 1964, and was blessed to add his three children to their family. After fulfilling their call to the Spanish-speaking Los Angeles mission, Art passed away September 5, 1985. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna lovingly served others throughout her life.
She was devoted to her family, finding joyful delight in her children, 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Each one held a special place in her heart. Donna will be sorely missed, but her loved ones rejoice in her long awaited reunion with those who have preceded her in death. One of Donna's favorite activities was to go to lunch with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please take someone you love to lunch, and remember Donna.
She is survived by her brother Duane (Dyann) Thomas; sister Carol Thomas; children, Lorraine (Kurt) Cornish, Tom Black, Peggy Harkness, Bob (Kim) Pearson, Susan Blank, Shelley (Ross) Alvord, Dave (Mary Ann) Pearson, Linda (Dave) Browne, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A viewing will be held for friends and family Saturday, July 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. A private family service will be held, with interment in Boise, Idaho.
Note: After the death of his wife James Hulet Gardiner dated Donna Black. Her daughter Shelly remembers driving up to see the snow in Angeles Crest in the back of Jim's station wagon. She had never seen the snow. On the way up she got carsick because she rode in the back of the station wagon. Jim gave her a cottage cheese carton to throw up in. Shelly remembers Jim as being very kind and respectful to her and her mother.
