1912 Willard Hornschuch, Falls City, NE

"1907  the picture of Willard Apel is actually Willard Hornschuch.  It needs to go to Emma’s line.  When my Uncle Willard died I picked up all his pictures that pertained to the Apel side and left the ones pertaining to Aunt Marguerite there for her family.  That picture was in the stack and it had no last name so I just assumed it was Willard Apel.  I took that picture to Portland, OR to the family reunion and Beth Weinert told me that was Willard Hornschuch not Willard Apel.  The back of the picture said, “Willard 15 months.  Willard has Emil Hornschuch’s watch, holding it to his ear.  He likes to do that so much”.  I thought my Uncle Willard Apel was holding his Uncle Emil Hornschuch’s watch in Falls City, and not realizing Emma and Emil were married in Portland, OR and probably never around the Apel family in Falls City.  Willard Hornschuch was born 2 Jun 1911 so the picture was probably taken Sep 1912." Margie

I copied the front and back o this photo from Paul Weinert in Falls City. The back says Willard Hornschuch. Kent

Lawn: LtR Emma Scholl, Franklin Weinert, August Weinert Jr., Minnie (Weinert) Voegelein

Both August Weinert Jr. and his sister Minnie (Weinert) Voegelein lost their spouses while their families were young. The two decided to combine their families. They lived in a parsonage for a period of time. This may be that home. Note the large building next door that appears to be a church. As some of the Scholl and Weinert family moved from Nebraska to Portland they would stay with family members when they arrived in Portland. This may be why Emma is in the picture."
