Conrad Gottlieb Käpplinger 1696-1774

According to this marriage record, Conrad Gottlieb Käpplinger was a school master in Büchenbronn. Johannes Käpplinger was a school master in Graben. In the name of the Holy Trinity were married Conrad Gottlieb Käpplinger, school master in Büchenbronn, [son of] Johannes Käpplinger, school master in Graben from 1708-1724, Karlsruhe district, and Dorothea, surviving legitimately-conceived daughter of the late Johann Ulrich Heinz. In 1747 Ulrich Weeber, local citizen and farmer, and his wife Maria Salome asked Conrad Gottlieb to be the sponsor to their son. Dorothea was born in 1702. In fact they liked the school teacher so much they named their child after him. In 1748 the same couple asked the Käpplinger couple to be the sponsor of their son Christoph Weeber.  Conrad served as school teacher in Graben from 1734 to 1754 when Johann Jakob Stober took over. During his tenure Andreas Weber  Francs Christoph Henr. Beck. served as pastors in Graben and he knew them well. I have not been able to find any children for Conrad Gottlieb and Dorothea. From other records it appears Conrad began teaching in Graben in 1734 and his father died the next year: 14 March 1735

Robert Seal: Conrad Gottlieb's wife, Dorothea, was from Büchenbronn, and it's likely that Conrad Gottlieb met Dorothea because he was a school master working in Büchenbronn, which is also why they married in Büchenbronn. At some point after the marriage in 1726, Conrad Gottlieb and wife could have moved back to Graben, either before or after Conrad Gottlieb's father died in 1735, where Conrad Gottlieb continued to work as a school master. The distance between Graben and Büchenbronn is approximately 33 miles, not that great a distance.

Conrad's wife Mrs. Dorothea née Heinzin, died after a 10 _____? pneumonia and subsequent catarrh/breathing problems. She was thereafter buried on the third day following with sound, singing, and a funeral sermon. She was 55 years old.

The following is a letter from Conrad's father Johann Käpplinger:
1713 Letter from the Graben Schoolmaster
We read from such a one (request letter):
Graben, the 4 March 1713
I have a indeed a free (of charge), but too small flat in the Schaeferhäuslein. (small house called little shepherd house)
But for my little pupils, at the moment 80 (too small to accomodate the pupils in my house's living room.) For lack of a pastor house the pastor lives in the schoolhouse. We have to help ourselves with this much too little house, in which the shepherd lived before. It is far away from the church (one quarter of an hour to walk) and too remote of the community (Flecken) and not easy to reach for the quite big number of pupils (children). It is too far away - you do not (even) hear the church bells and when they the bells announce the hours (half hours etc.). (they did not have any watches) The path way is nearly impossible in bad weather (mean time) because of too much dirt on the street (swamp, not paved way, lousy street).
